Siobhan Stagg

Siobhan Stagg (born September 16, 1987 ) is an Australian opera singer (lyric coloratura soprano ).

Career

Stagg studied at the University of Melbourne and the Wales International Academy of Voice in Cardiff . She continued her education at the Salzburg Festival and the Deutsche Oper Berlin as part of the programs for young artists and is now a member of the ensemble in Berlin .

Engagements include Die Blonde ( Die Entführung aus dem Serail ), Sophie ( Der Rosenkavalier ), Pamina ( Die Zauberflöte ), Sophie ( Werther ), Woglinde ( Das Rheingold ), Waldvogel ( Siegfried ) and Voice from Above ( Don Carlo ) in the Deutsche Oper, the Konstanze ( Die Entführung aus dem Serail ) and Pamina for the Salzburg Festival, Cordelia ( Aribert Reimanns Lear ) for the Hamburg State Opera and Woglinde for the Berlin State Opera .

Stagg sings regularly with conductors such as Kent Nagano , Simon Rattle , Donald Runnicles , Pinchas Steinberg , Christian Thielemann and Simone Young . Engagements include Johannes Brahms ' A German Requiem under Thielemann with the Berliner Philharmoniker .

In 2015 Siobhan Stagg made her debut at the Royal Opera Covent Garden and sang the title role in Luigi Rossi's Orfeo in Sam Wanamaker's Playhouse, Shakespeare's Globe . She returned to the Royal Opera in the 2017/18 season and sang Pamina ( Die Zauberflöte ) as partner of Mauro Peter .

Her recordings include the solo album Hymne à l'amour, which was nominated for best classical album at the 2013 Australian Independent Music Awards.
