The Siran is a left tributary of the Indus in northern Pakistan .

The Siran rises 125 km west-southwest of the Nanga Parbat in the western foothills of the Himalayas . It flows mainly in a southerly direction through the mountains. It runs 7 km west of the district capital Manshera . Finally the Siran flows into the eastern part of the reservoir of the Tarbela Dam . The Siran has a length of 130 km. It drains an area of ​​about 1600 km², which is largely in the Manshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa . The catchment area of the Siran is influenced by the monsoons , so that there is heavy rainfall in the summer months and the river has a high water flow during this time.
