Skaterdater is an American short film of Noel Black from the year 1965 .

action

A group of boys rides through the city, along streets and sidewalks on their skateboards , jumping over obstacles and curbs and is thus faster than a girl who fails her bike on an obstacle. The noise of the wheels does not meet with approval everywhere. When the group passes a commercial building, the adults are disturbed in their work. A woman trips a skater by throwing grit on the street.

During a break, one of the boys sees a woman watching him. Later he looks at the female figure at a fountain and loses touch with the skater group. He meets the girl again on her bike and spends the afternoon with her. Both ride the carousel and ride the girl's bike together. The other boys disapprove of his behavior and so he leaves the girl the next day to join the skaters. At a fork in the road, the boy's route opposes that of the leader of the skaters. The leader of the skaters challenges him to a skate duel on an extremely sloping road. Both circling each other, descending on their skateboards, until the boy falls. The other skaters leave him lying there and ride on together. The girl who saw everything sits down by his side. Later you can see both of them walking together on the sidewalk when the skaters pass them without looking at him. Two boys in the group, in turn, see two girls walking and look around at them while the rest of the group drives on.
