Sky Scream in Holiday Park ( Haßloch , Rhineland-Palatinate , Germany ) is a steel roller coaster model Sky Rocket II by the manufacturer Premier Rides , which was opened on April 12, 2014. The roller coaster is identical to the Superman Ultimate Flight systems in Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and "Electric Eel" in SeaWorld San Diego.
history
On August 26, 2013, the park announced that in 2014 it would open a facility identical to the Superman Ultimate Flight from the manufacturer Premier Rides. After Vonkaputous in Linnanmäki , Finland , Sky Scream represents the manufacturer's second roller coaster on European soil and the first on German soil.
Sky Scream was built on the former site of the super vortex . The demolition of the old roller coaster began immediately after the end of the season in November 2013. However, not all parts of the super vortex were discarded; As in Alton Towers , part of the corkscrew has been incorporated into the theming of the new themed area.
The first parts for the new roller coaster arrived in Hassloch from the USA in January ; the entire roller coaster was transported to Antwerp in more than 50 containers by ship . In January 2014, the theming of vampires , zombies and undead was confirmed in the Rheinpfalz . The working title “Sky Scream” also appeared for the first time.
The previous working title "Sky Scream" was confirmed at a press conference on February 11th. A model was also presented at this press conference, on which the final subject area could be seen with the entire theming.
On February 15, the last part of the system was put into operation, marking the end of the track. The trains arrived on March 5, 2014 and the first test runs took place on March 20, 2014, these were announced by the park in the form of a video on the Facebook page.
Routing
The journey begins with a forward launch, but the speed is not enough to cover the distance. This leads to a deliberate rollback of the train, which is also shot backwards when passing the station. This backward launch ensures that the train penetrates to the ascent of the non-inverting loop . However, since the speed is insufficient to cope with the climb, the train rolls a third time (forward) through the station, the last time and also the strongest accelerating to 100 km / h.
This speed is now sufficient to cope with the 45 meter high ascent, which ends in a heartline roll . This role is passed through at slow speed, which ensures that the passengers hang in the hangers . After the train has passed the roller, there is a vertical and twisted descent, which ends in a non-inverting loop. After this element is over, the train is braked in the station and driven back to its starting position.
