Slanted Publishers is an independent German publisher. The publishing house, based in Karlsruhe , was founded in 2014 by Lars Harmsen and Julia Kahl. He publishes the typography magazine Slanted and other publications dealing with contemporary art , illustration , design , photography and typography .
Slanted magazine
The publisher publishes the twice-yearly print magazine Slanted . The magazine was founded in 2005. The focus of the magazine is on international design and culture. Each issue is dedicated to a specific typographical or country-specific topic with a correspondingly designed layout. The editorial office is in Karlsruhe . As of May 2020 (excluding special editions) 35 issues of the magazine were published, each dedicated to a specific typographical or location-related topic. Three special editions were published between 2013 and 2019.
The magazine has won awards in national and international design competitions. Among other things, it received the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany (silver, 2009) and the German Design Award 2018.

The publisher operates the website Slanted.de . News and events from the fields of design, typography, illustration and photography of the international design scene have been published here every day since 2004. In addition to portfolio presents from all over the world.
The website offers more than 180 video interviews with creative personalities as contemporary witnesses (as of 2020), including Milton Glaser , Steven Heller , Louise Fili , Lance Wyman , Michael Bierut , Niklaus Troxler and Wolfgang Weingart .
In 2008 the blog was counted among the 100 most important German-language corporate blogs and received the gold medal in the “Weblog of the Year” category at the LeadAwards 2008.
