Sleep and Release is the second album by the Scottish band Aereogramme . It was released on February 18, 2003.

Style and reception

On “Sleep and Release”, aereograms process influences from Mogwai , Weezer , Sigur Rós and Godspeed You! Black Emperor . The music magazine Visions also recognized similarities to The Notwist and called "Sleep and Release" in issue 121 a "masterpiece". "Sleep and Release" received four out of five stars from the Allmusic Guide and was named "AMG Album Pick".

The album was added to the list of "150 records for eternity" in 2006 by readers of Visions magazine, which was published in issue 150. In the list of the 50 best records since 1999, which the editors of Plattentests.de published in early 2010, the album came in at number 37. In an interview, singer Craig B later described "Sleep and Release" as his preferred Aereogramme album.
