Sleeptime Trio is an American emocore band from Harrisonburg , Virginia, founded in 1994 .

history

After the band Maximillian Colby was dissolved, Drew Ringo, who came from this band, founded the band Sleepytime Trio together with Ben Davis on bass and Jonathan Fuller on drums . In the summer of 1995, Dave Nesmith , who also worked for Maximillian Colby, joined as the second guitarist.

After the line-up was complete, the band went on tour in 1996 , playing 20 concerts in 17 days, traveling to Florida , Chicago , Québec and back to Washington, DC .

In 1998 there was a short break for the band, because Drew Ringo was in Seattle for a while and the other band members had time for other bands such as Engine Down , The Rah Bras or Milemaker . After this short time the band played together again.

With Memory Minus , a new album by the band came out in 2002 on the Lovitt Records label .

style

Her style corresponds to the typical emo sound. Mid-tempo DC Hardcore with somewhat chaotic song structures, emotionally sung and shouted lines of text and words; Hard guitars and quieter, more monotonous parts characterize the band and are typical of the genre. Still, an influence from harder emo bands called Screamo can be heard. Above all, the more aggressive style of play and the increased use of more aggressive screaming indicate this special form of the genre.
