Slovak Technical Museum
The Slovak Technical Museum ( Slovak Slovenské technické múzeum , abbreviation STM) is a Museum of Technology , headquartered in the eastern Slovak city of Kosice and other branches in Slovakia . It documents the development of science and technology in the area of Slovakia as well as Slovak contributions in the world. The museum was founded in 1947 and opened to the public a year later under the name Technické múzeum . In 1983 it was given its current name.
The main building on Hlavná Street in Košice houses expositions on metallurgy, typewriters, physics, chemistry, astronomy (with a planetarium ), mining, electricity, and one dealing with contributions by Aurel Stodola .
