Spišská Belá (German Zipser Bela , Hungarian Szepesbéla ) is a town in eastern Slovakia in the Poprad Valley seven kilometers north of Kežmarok .
history
Spišská Belá was first mentioned in writing as Bela in 1263 and is divided into the actual town of Spišská Belá ( Zipser Bela ) and the town of Strážky (German Nehre ), which was incorporated on February 1, 1976 and is located south of the town. The Beliansky potok ( Belerbach ) flows through the village and flows into the Poprad shortly afterwards .
The place belonged to the brotherhood of the 24 royal parishes and the union of the 24 Spiš cities . By mortgaging part of the cities it came to Poland and was later part of the only 16 Spis cities. Even during the pledging, the city retained its wealth.
