Stará Lesná (German Altwalddorf , Hungarian Felsőerdőfalva - until 1892 Óleszna ) is a municipality in northern Slovakia in the Spiš region . It is located in the Podtatranská kotlina basin at the foot of the High Tatras , about eleven kilometers from Kežmarok and 15 kilometers from Poprad .
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1294.
