Havka (German Haffke , Hungarian Hóka - until 1907 Hafka ) is a municipality in northern Slovakia with 35 inhabitants (December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Kežmarok , part of the Prešovský kraj and is counted as part of the traditional Spiš landscape . Havka is also the smallest municipality in terms of population in Okres Kežmarok.
geography
The community is located in the Zipser Magura on the Jordanec stream , in the Dunajec catchment area . The town center is located at an altitude of 633 m nm and is six kilometers from Spišská Stará Ves and 41 kilometers from Kežmarok .
Neighboring municipalities are Lechnica in the north, Veľká Lesná in the east, Zálesie in the south, Matiašovce in the west and Spišská Stará Ves in the north-west.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1337 as Hafka and was then a Meierhof of the Red Monastery . In the 15th century the village burned down after a Hussite attack, in the late 18th century it was settled by Württemberg settlers. In 1828 there were 15 houses and 116 inhabitants.
Until 1918 the place in Zips County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, there were 43 residents in Havka, including 40 Slovaks. Three residents did not provide any information about their ethnicity. 39 residents confessed to the Roman Catholic Church and the denomination of four residents was not determined.
