The Kosice Airport ( slow. Medzinárodné letisko Košice ICAO code LZKZ , IATA code KSC ) is the international passenger airport of the Slovak city of Kosice .
Location and transport links
The airport is located about six kilometers south of Košice city center in the area of the Barca district . The European roads 58 and 571 run around two kilometers to the west , to which the airport is connected via three or two junctions. Infrastructure

history
The former military airfield Košice had been the aeronautical training center of the air forces of Czechoslovakia since the late 1950s . Even after the dissolution of the ČSFR in 1993, it was still used by the Air Force of the Slovak Republic , Veliteľstvo vzdušných síl OS SR (VVzS).
