Joseph Patrick Hurley (born January 21, 1894 in Cleveland , Ohio , USA ; † October 30, 1967 ) was Bishop of Saint Augustine .

Life

Joseph Patrick Hurley received on 29 May 1919, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On August 16, 1940, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of Saint Augustine. Cardinal Secretary of State Luigi Cardinal Maglione donated him episcopal ordination on October 6th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Belgium , Clemente Micara , and the Apostolic Delegate in China , Archbishop Celso Costantini . The inauguration took place on November 26, 1940. Pope Pius XII awarded him the personal title of Archbishop on August 18, 1949.
