Patrick Joseph Barry (born November 15, 1868 in Lauragh , County Clare , Ireland , † August 13, 1940 in Jacksonville , Florida , USA ) was Bishop of Saint Augustine .

Life

Patrick Joseph Barry received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Saint Augustine on June 9, 1895 . He became a curate at the Immaculate Conception Church in Jacksonville. In 1903 Barry became pastor of St. Monica's parish in Palatka . In 1917, Patrick Joseph Barry became Rector of St. Augustine Cathedral in Jacksonville and Vicar General of the Diocese of Saint Augustine.

On February 22, 1922, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Saint Augustine. The Archbishop of Baltimore , Michael Joseph Curley , ordained him episcopal on May 3 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Wilmington , John J. Monaghan , and the Bishop of Buffalo , William Turner .
