Michael Joseph O'Farrell

Michael Joseph O'Farrell (born December 2, 1832 in Limerick , Ireland , † April 2, 1894 in Jacksonville , Florida , USA ) was Bishop of Trenton .

Life

Michael Joseph O'Farrell studied Philosophy at All Hallows College , Dublin and Catholic Theology at St. Sulpice Seminary in Paris . He received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of New York on August 18, 1855 .

O'Farrell became a curate at St. Peter's Church in New York City . In 1872 he became pastor of the parish of St. Mary in Rondout . Michael Joseph O'Farrell became pastor of St. Peter's Parish in New York City in 1893 .

On August 2, 1881, Pope Leo XIII appointed him . to the Bishop of Trenton. The Archbishop of New York, Cardinal John McCloskey , donated him episcopal ordination on November 1 of that year ; Co- consecrators were the Coadjutor Archbishop of New York, Michael Augustine Corrigan , and the Bishop of Brooklyn , John Loughlin .
