Smalegga Ridge ( Norwegian Smalegga 'narrow ridge' ) is a 6 km long mountain ridge in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the Sør Rondane Mountains , it stretches from Walnumfjella in a northerly direction to west of Gillockbreen .
Norwegian cartographers, who also made the descriptive naming, mapped it in 1957 using aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy as part of Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated this name into English in 1966, also to avoid confusion with the rock spur Smalegga ( English Smalegga Spur ) in the Orvinfjella .
