Walnumfjella is a massive 2870 m high mountain in Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . It rises 6 km west of Widerøefjellet in the Sør Rondane Mountains .
Norwegian cartographers mapped the mountain in 1946 using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . It is named after Ragnvald Walnum (1883–1953), chairman of the Norwegian whaling authority. Another mapping by Norwegian cartographers took place in 1957 using aerial photographs taken from the US Operation Highjump (1946–1947).
