Small Planet Airlines Cambodia was a Cambodian subsidiary of the Lithuanian Small Planet Group . Due to the insolvency of the Small Planet Group in November 2018, it had to cease operations.

history

Small Planet Airlines Cambodia was founded in 2017 together with local investors, after the Small Planet Group had already been active for Sky Angkor Airlines in Cambodia in previous years . The company's intention was to keep the group's aircraft busy during the weak European winter season. The Air Operator Certificate was issued on October 3, 2017 and flight operations began on November 30, 2017. The company operated charter flights from Siem Reap and Phnom Penh to China and South Korea.

After flight operations had ceased on November 9, 2018 due to financial difficulties, the two aircraft were transferred to Shannon in December 2018 and returned to the lessor.

fleet

At the time of the cessation of operations, the Small Planet Airlines Cambodia fleet consisted of two Airbus A320-200s ( XU-801 and XU-802 ) with 180 seats each and an average age of almost 20 years, which had been taken over by the Lithuanian sister company. In addition, a former Easyjet Airbus A319-100 as XU-803 was supposed to strengthen the fleet, which was no longer taken over.
