The Snowy River is a river in the center of the Australian state of Tasmania .
geography
River course
The river has its source on the northern slopes of Snow Hill , about 75 km southeast of Launceston . First it flows around the mountain for 2 km to the west and then turns south. In Lake Leake it forms the Elizabeth River together with small streams and rivulets .
