Sofija Novoselić (born January 18, 1990 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian ski racer . Your strongest discipline is the slalom .
biography
After initial successes at the national level, Novoselić started in December 2005 for the first time in FIS races . From 2006 to 2010 she took part in five Junior World Championships , in which she achieved several top 30 results and a 17th place in the 2007 slalom as the best result . Also in 2007 she won the bronze medal in the giant slalom at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Jaca . She only missed a second medal in slalom by four hundredths of a second. Since the 2006/2007 season Novoselić has also competed in the World Cup as well as in the European and Nor-Am Cup . In the World Cup, Novoselić has only competed in slalom races so far, but remained for a long time without a countable result because she could not qualify for the second round of the top 30. In the European Cup, she scored for the first time in February 2008 with 28th place in the slalom of Candanchú ; Her best result so far is an 18th place in the giant slalom in Limone Piemonte on December 20, 2010. In the Nor-Am Cup, she started for the last time on December 5, 2008 in the Loveland slalom , where she achieved her best result with 13th place reached in this racing series.
In February 2007 Novoselić took part in a world championship for the first time in Åre, Sweden , and achieved 27th place in the slalom. Two years later she was 33rd slalom at the 2009 World Championships in Val-d'Isère, France . In the giant slalom she was both unsuccessful. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , she started only in slalom, in which she finished 39th. On January 4, 2011 Sofija Novoselić succeeded for the first time to qualify for the second round of a World Cup race. In her home race, the Snow Queen Trophy at Sljeme near Zagreb, she finished 25th in the final ranking and thus won her first World Cup points. At the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , she was 28th in slalom and 43rd in giant slalom.
