Sofijiwka ( Ukrainian Софіївка ; Russian Софиевка Sofijewka ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Oblast of Mykolaiv with about 1200 inhabitants (2018).
In the village founded in the 18th century (another source mentions the year 1809) settlements from the Neolithic and Bronze Age of the 11th century BC were found. Found.
Geographical location
The village is located at an altitude of 51 m on the bank of the Inhul , a 354 km long left tributary of the southern bend, dammed upstream from the village to the Sofijivka reservoir ( Софіївське водосховище ) . Sofiyivka is located 12 km west of the Novyj Buh district center and about 100 km north of the Mykolaiv oblast center . To the north of the village lies the 3152.7 hectare Pryinhulsk Regional Landscape Park ( Приінгульський регіональний ландшафтний парк Pryinhulskyj rehionalnyj Landschaftnyj park ). The regional road P-55 runs through the village .

Sofijiwka is the administrative center of the 236.7773 km² rural community of the same name in the Novyj Buh district with a total of 3654 inhabitants, which was created in May 2018 as a result of the merger of the district municipalities Sofijiwka and Barativka.
