Sofronio Aguirre Bancud
Sofronio Aguirre Bancud SSS (born December 8, 1948 in Atulayan ) is Bishop of Cabanatuan .
Life
Sofronio Aguirre Bancud joined the religious community of the Eucharist and was ordained a priest on May 2, 1977 . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on May 24, 2001 auxiliary bishop in Cabanatuan and titular bishop of Bida .
The Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines , Antonio Franco , donated him episcopal ordination on August 2nd of the same year; Co- consecrators were Diosdado Aenlle Talamayan , Archbishop of Tuguegarao , and Sofio Guinto Balce , Bishop of Cabanatuan.
He was named bishop of Cabanatuan on November 6, 2004, and initiated into the office on January 25 of the next year.
