Zohar ( Hebrew זוֹהַר / זֹהַר, English Zohar , in German: "Shine") is a moshaw in Israel. The settlement founded in 1956 with 359 inhabitants (as of 2018) is located in the northern Negev , near the cities of Sderot , Kirjat Gat and Ashkelon . The place in the southwest of the Lachisch regional administration belongs to the southern district . The name goes back to Ezekiel 1.28 EU and Ezekiel 8.2 EU as well as Daniel 2.31 EU and Daniel 12.3 EU . The lake of the same name Agam Sohar ( Hebrew אֲגַם זוֹהַר, English Agam Zohar "Lake of Brightness" ) has an area of 1,200,000 m² and can hold around 7 million cubic meters of water.
