Solmaz Ünaydın

Solmaz Ünaydın (* 1942 ; † August 26, 2010 ) was a Turkish ambassador .

Life

Solmaz Ünaydın received her Abitur as the best of the year from TED Ankara College Foundation Schools . She holds a bachelor's degree in international relations from Bryn Mawr College . Ünaydın joined the foreign service in 1967 and was assigned to the mission at the UN headquarters . She was the second class diplomatic secretary in Cairo .

From 1992 to 1996 she was ambassador in Stockholm . After Filiz Dinçmen she was the second Turkish ambassador. Diplomats reach the rank of attaché in about three to four years, Solmaz Ünaydın left personnel administration at the entry level for eight years.

From 1996 to 1998 she was ambassador to Warsaw . From December 14, 2002 to December 16, 2006, she was ambassador to Tokyo. In 2006 she was retired . It had been reactivated to lobby for Izmir as the venue for Expo 2015 .

Solmaz Ünaydın was married to the diplomat Erdoğan Tevfik Ünaydın.
