Solveig Sundbø Abrahamsen (born September 13, 1963 in Seljord ) is a Norwegian politician of the conservative party Høyre . She has been a member of the Storting since 2013 .

Life

Abrahamsen studied teaching at Telemark University from 1983 to 1986 and then worked as a teacher until 1988. She then worked as a kindergarten director until 1997, before teaching at a school again until 2007. From 1999 to 2013 Abrahamsen was a member of the local parliament of Seljord, from 2007 she was the mayor of the municipality. In 2011 she also moved to the Fylkesting of what was then the province of Telemark .

Abrahamsen missed direct entry into the Norwegian national parliament in Storting in the 2013 parliamentary elections and instead became the first Vararepresentant , i.e. a substitute member, for the constituency of Telemark. Since her party colleague Torbjørn Røe Isaksen , who came from the same constituency, took over a ministerial office, she moved into parliament from October 2013 and Abrahamsen represented Isaksen until the end of the legislative period. During this time she was a member of the finance committee. In September 2017 she finally moved directly into Storting for the first time in the 2017 election . After the election, she moved to the Transport and Communications Committee.

In May 2020 she announced that she would not run for a seat in Storting again in the 2021 parliamentary election.
