Summer Paralympics 2016 / medal table
The placements in the medal table of the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro are sorted according to the number of gold medals won, followed by the number of silver and bronze medals. If two or more countries have an identical medal balance, they are listed alphabetically on the same rank. This corresponds to the system used by the IOC .
Athletes from Georgia , Cape Verde , Qatar , Mozambique , Uganda and Vietnam won the first Paralympic medals for their associations. So far Cape Verde has not won a medal in the competitions for the non-disabled. Athletes also won the first Paralympic gold medals for the delegations from Georgia, Kazakhstan , Malaysia , Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
