Song Kyung-sub (born February 25, 1971 ) is a former South Korean soccer player who last played for Suwon Samsung Bluewings . From 2001 to 2012 he was assistant coach of the U-13, U-17 and U-23 of South Korea . Most recently he was under contract with Gangwon FC .
Career as a player
Adolescence at Dankook University
Song Kyung-sub studied at Dankook University from 1983 to 1987 and played for the university team during this time.
Football career
It wasn't until 1994, seven years after his university days, that he was signed by Daewoo Royals. However, he was not used there in the two seasons. For the 1996 season he moved to Suwon Samsung Bluewings. In the season he did not get beyond the reserve role and only on two missions. He ended his career as a soccer player after the season.
Career as a coach
South Korean national team
From 2001 to 2002 he was assistant coach of the South Korean U-13 national team. From 2002 he took on two other functions. From 2002 to 2012 he was assistant coach of the U-17 and U-23 national teams.
K League stations
In 2015 , FC Seoul hired him as assistant coach to the then coach Choi Yong-soo . After the season the contract was canceled. In 2016 he was introduced to Jeonnam Dragons as the new coach. It was his first position as a trainer. In the last three championship games Jeonnam Dragons could hardly score. After the end of the season, he announced that he would resign as coach of the Jeonnam Dragons. Towards the end of the 2017 season, he was introduced as the new coach at Gangwon FC .
