Sonneberg is a district of Neusalza-Spremberg in Saxony .
geography
Sonneberg lies between the Hänscheberg (393.1 m) and the eponymous Sonneberg (401.0 m; also called Buchberg) in a wooded corner about 500 m from the border with the Czech Republic . The Sonneberg water, which flows from the Sonneberg towards Neuspremberg , joins the trout raft after the island pond and then flows into the Spree .
history
The first 7 houses were built around 1800. In the historical Meilenblatt von Sachsen, sheet 353, “the new houses of the Sonneberg are called”, in other places also called new houses or mushroom houses. The individual buildings stand in a loose row of houses on a crossroad that is cut by Sonnebergstrasse, the old connection from Neusalza to Šluknov (Schluckenau). The place name was 1875 Sonnenberg (Sonneberg). Sonneberg has been part of Neusalza-Spremberg since 1920. In the course of the 19th century, around 1860, so-called “ Pascherkneipen ” emerged in both the Sonneberg and Neuspremberg districts along the wooded border with Bohemia . In these taverns “Paschergut” (smuggled goods) was handled, for example in Sonneberg in the “Rote Tonne”, the predecessor of today's excursion restaurant “Waldestal”. The previously heavily frequented restaurant with its large beer garden has been closed for years. The hikers in an easterly direction reach the Fichtelschänke and Blockhaus restaurants after a long walk behind the district of Neuspremberg in Neufriedersdorf . The Sonnebergstraße as a modern traffic connection between the city and its district ends behind the Waldestal building on the edge of the forest and is now a cross-border cycling and hiking trail in the Czech Schluckenauer tip .
