Sonya Jeyaseelan (born April 24, 1976 in New Westminster ) is a former Canadian tennis player .

Career

In her tennis career she won two double titles on the WTA Tour and three ITF tournaments each in singles and doubles. In 1994 she was in the junior women's final of the French Open , which she lost to Martina Hingis 3: 6 and 1: 6.

As a member of the Canada Olympic team, Jeyaseelan also competed in the 2000 Sydney Olympics .

Between 1997 and 2003 she played for the Canadian Fed Cup team with an extremely positive record of 29 wins and only seven defeats (all games on clay).
