Sooraj R. Barjatya (born February 22, 1965 in Bombay , Maharashtra , India ) is an Indian director of the Hindi film industry . His films were released under Rajshri Productions , which his father Tarachand Barjatya founded in 1947 .

Life

Sooraj R. Barjatya made his directorial debut with the film Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) with Salman Khan , who also made his debut in the film. The film was very successful and made him and Salman Khan stars. In 1994 he had another big hit with Salman Khan. The movie Hum Aapke Hain Koun…! achieved the all time blockbuster status and is one of the greatest hits of the Hindi film industry . With Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United he only landed a small hit, although Salman Khan was again to be seen as the main actor. His fourth film, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon - I Long for Your Love (2003) with Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor , dared to take a step into modern cinema. The film was deemed bad by critics and it only did solidly at the box office. Sooraj R. Barjatya's latest film is Vivah , another blockbuster , this time with Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao . Vivah was also seen in the cinema for an unusually long time.
