Sophie Hannah (born June 28, 1971 in Manchester , England ) is an English author .

Life

Hannah went to school in Didsbury and then attended the University of Manchester . She published a first volume of her poems in 1995. From 1997 to 1999 she was a Fellow Commoner in the Creative Arts department at Trinity College (Cambridge) . From 1999 to 2001 she was a lecturer at Wolfson College (Oxford) .

Hannah's poetry is taught in a number of high schools across the UK . Since the 1990s, several volumes of poetry, two children's books, novels and a number of crime novels and psychological thrillers have been published by the author. She lives in Cambridge with her husband and their two children .
