Sophie Hauser

Sophie Hauser (born October 30, 1872 in Wädenswil ; † May 13, 1945 in Bern ) was a Swiss painter , graphic artist and ex-libris artist .

Life

Sophie Hauser was the daughter of the entrepreneur and politician Walter Hauser and his wife Marie Sophie, b. Wiedemann. She had three sisters.

She studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Zürich and the Kunstgewerbeschule Bern and attended the painting schools of Hermann Gattiker in Rüschlikon , Melchior Kern in Fürstenfeldbruck and Ernst Linck in Bern. Hauser's paintings, drawings and etchings have been shown in several exhibitions. She also designed book covers.
