Sophie Mair (born July 11, 2000 ) is an Austrian ski jumper .

Career

Sophie Mair started in January 2016 in two competitions in the Alpencup in Žiri , in which she finished eleventh twice, for the first time on an international level. After participating in further competitions in the Alpine Cup in the following months, she made her debut on December 16 and 17, 2016 in the Norwegian Notodden in the Continental Cup ; here she reached places five and four, which means that she won many points for the overall standings in her first participation in the COC and only just missed the podium. Thanks to these good results, at the end of the 2016/17 season she finished fourth in the winter ranking and 15th in the overall ranking.

At the 2017 Junior World Championships in Park City , Utah , Mair took 17th place in the individual competition. In the women's team competition, she won the bronze medal behind Germany and Slovenia together with Claudia Purker , Elisabeth Raudaschl and Julia Huber, and in the mixed team competition, she finished together with Claudia Purker, Markus Rupitsch and Janni Reisenauer took sixth place.

On February 11 and 12, 2017, Mair made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup in Ljubno, Slovenia , but missed the second round with places 36 and 34. At the 2018 Junior World Championships in Kandersteg , Switzerland , she won the bronze medal with the Austrian mixed team.
