Sopio Toroschelidze

Sopio Toroschelidse ( Georgian სოფიო ტოროშელიძე ; also: Sopho Toroshelidze or Toroshelidse ) (born January 8, 1990 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian singer and composer.

Life

Sopio Toroschelidze studied at the music colleague for gifted students of the Tbilisi state Vano Sarajishvili Conservatory. She was active as a singer and composer for the Georgian band Mziuri . From 1997 she won the Georgian Theater Festival ( Talent of the year ) and the Golden Eagle Festival (1st prize). In 2006 she won the title Best Song of the Year with the song Surprised Again, which she composed . In 2009 she reached the final of Georgia's Stars' Academy singing competition .

Toroschelidze was the singing teacher of the Princesses group of participants in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2009 . In 2010 she took part in the Eurovision Song Contest as an accompanist for Sopo Nischaradze . The following year she had her second appearance, this time with the band Eldrine for Georgia in Düsseldorf at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 . She replaced the singer Tako Wadachkoria at short notice, who had won the national qualification in Georgia with the band. This decision was made by the band production company Titani .

She wrote the Georgian contribution to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Minsk, Belarus for Tamar Edilashvili .
