Sopytsch ( Ukrainian Сопич ; Russian Сопычь ) is a village in the east of the Ukrainian Sumy Oblast with about 700 inhabitants (2004).

The village, first mentioned in the middle of the 16th century, is located on the Klewen ( Клевень ), a 113 km long tributary of the Seim , which forms the border between Ukraine and the Russian Oblast Bryansk . The M 02 / E 101 road runs near the village .

Sopytsch is located 45 km northeast of Rajonzentrum Hlukhiv and 185 km north of the Oblastzentrum Sumy and is the administrative center of the eponymous district municipality in Rajon Hlukhiv , km to the nor the 2.5 downstream lying village Potapiwka ( Потапівка ) is about 40 inhabitants.
