Sorbolo is a fraction and municipal seat of the Italian municipality ( comune ) Sorbolo Mezzani in the province of Parma , Emilia-Romagna region .

geography

The place is about 10 kilometers north-northeast of Parma on the orographic left bank of the Torrente Enza , a right tributary of the Po .

history

Sorbolo was an independent municipality until 2018 and merged with the neighboring municipality of Mezzani to form the new municipality of Sorbolo Mezzani on January 1, 2019 . The districts of Bogolese, Casaltone, Coenzo, Enzano, Frassinara and Ramoscello also belonged to the former municipality of Sorbolo.
