Soubré is a town in the department of the same name in the Bas-Sassandra district in the central southwest of the Ivory Coast .
The city with 175,163 inhabitants (2014 census) has seen a strong increase in population. It is located on the Sassandra River . Cocoa and coffee are mainly grown in the area.

Neighboring cities are Gagnoa in the east, Duékoué in the west, Man in the north and Sassandra in the south.
Besides French, Dioula is spoken, but Bété is the lingua franca . The mayors mostly belonged to the Parti Démocratique de Côte d'Ivoire .
