South Beacon ( English for southern beacon ) is a 2210 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the southern part of Beacon Heights in the Quartermain Mountains, it rises from a massive and flattened mountain ridge 2.5 km south of the West Beacon and southwest of the East Beacon .
The New Zealand Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in the course of geological work carried out here between 1980 and 1981.
