Southcentral Alaska

Southcentral Alaska is a region in the US state of Alaska on the Gulf of Alaska between the Aleutian Islands and the Panhandle . In the north, South Central is bounded by the Alaska Range . Much of Alaska's residents live in this region, mainly in and around Anchorage .

The region includes the Alaska Peninsula , Kodiak Island , Kenai Peninsula , Cook Inlet and Prince William Sound , as well as the Kenai Fjords and Wrangell-St. Elias . Fishing and oil processing are the dominant industries. In addition to Anchorage, the cities of Kenai , Valdez , Homer and Seward are located in South Central Alaska.
