Southampton is a city in Hampshire County in the US state of Massachusetts with around 5,400 inhabitants. Southampton is part of the Springfield Metropolitan Area .

According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has an area of ​​75.3 square kilometers, of which 2.4 square kilometers are covered with water.

Demographics

Southampton's 5,387 residents in the 2000 census lived in 1,985 households; including 1,556 families. The population density was 74 per km². 2,025 residential units were recorded in the village.
