The Sowle Nunatak is a 675 m high nunatak in Queen Elizabeth Land in West Antarctica . In the group of Rambo Nunatakkers in the Pensacola Mountains, it rises 9 km southeast of the Wagner Nunatak on the western flank of the Foundation Ice Stream .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1956 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Melvin L. Sowle, a construction mechanic on the plateau station in the Antarctic winter of 1967.
