Altenburg Social Court

The social court in Altenburg is one of four social courts (SG) in the German state of Thuringia .

Seat and District of the Court

The social court has its seat in Altenburg . The judicial district includes the district of Altenburger Land , the district of Greiz , the Saale-Holzland district and the Saale-Orla district as well as the independent cities of Gera and Jena . The factual jurisdiction results from the Social Court Act .

Courthouse

The Altenburg Social Court has had its seat at Pauritzer Platz 1 since 1994 . The courthouse was built from 1856 to 1859 as a ducal criminal court by city building inspector Julius Richard Enger , based on a design by the architect and ducal building officer Bernhardt-Karl Voretzsch . The architectural style is late classical with neo-Romanesque elements. The staircase is late classical and on the 2nd floor there is a representative courtroom with a gallery . The building has been since the judicial reform in 1879 as a District Court as, in 1952 the District Court used.

Superior courts

The superordinate court to the Altenburg Social Court is the Thuringian Regional Social Court in Erfurt . The Federal Social Court in Kassel follows in the next instance .
