The Social Court Oldenburg is a court of social justice . It is one of eight social courts in Lower Saxony and is based in Oldenburg .

The court is housed in the Elisabeth-Anna-Palais in the street Schlosswall .

Emergence

The Oldenburg Social Court began its work on January 1, 1954 when the Social Court Act came into force . From 1949, the previous institution was the Oldenburg Upper Insurance Office . The first director of the social court was Curt Theilen from 1954 to 1961 .

Superior courts

The State Social Court of Lower Saxony-Bremen with its seat in Celle is superordinate to the Social Court of Oldenburg . This is subordinate to the Federal Social Court in Kassel .
