Spanish Love Songs is an American punk or emopunk band.
Band history
Spanish Love Songs was founded in 2014 in Los Angeles around singer Dylan Slocum. Her first album Giant Sings the Blues was released in 2015 via Wiretap Records and Bearded Punk Records.
With the second album Schmaltz (2018), the band made their breakthrough. The album was released through Uncle M Music and AF Records in Europe and was named "Punk Album of the Year" by the intro . This is followed by shows in the opening act of Hot Water Music as well as an appearance in the WDR-Rockpalast . In 2020 the band will perform together with The Menzingers .
Her third album, Brave Faces Everyone, was released on April 7, 2020 via Pure Noise Records .
Music genre
Musically it is an emopunk band, whose music is reminiscent of The Menzingers and Red City Radio , among others . Unique selling points are the keyboard passages by keyboardist Meredith Van Woert, which often bring in elements from outside the genre. The lyrics express a certain melancholy and are about anxiety and self-doubt.
