Stadtsparkasse Hameln

The Stadtsparkasse Hameln was founded on September 4th, 1835.

  • From 1835–1887 the Stadtsparkasse was located in the old Hamelin town hall.
  • In 1869 the city's savings and finance banks were separated
  • In 1887, the Stadtsparkasse moved its business premises from the old town hall to the representative wedding house
  • In 1922 an incumbent mayor of the city took over the chairmanship of the administrative board of the Stadtsparkasse for the first time
  • In 1928 the savings bank operations were reorganized and the bookkeeping switched to machine operation
  • In the 1930s, the Stadtsparkasse moved into the “Old Garrison Church” / “Heiliggeiststift” group of buildings. The fact that the financial institute was moving into a former church heated emotions across the empire.

Sparkasse Weserbergland

The Sparkasse Weserbergland was founded as a savings bank of the Hameln district on September 27, 1910.

The Sparkasse Hameln-Weserbergland is part of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe and thus also belongs to its liability association. The Sparkasse arranges home loan and savings contracts from the regional building society , open investment funds from Deka and insurance from VGH Versicherungen . In the area of ​​leasing, the Sparkasse Hameln-Weserbergland works together with Deutsche Leasing. Nord / LB performs the function of the savings bank central bank .

Foundations

The two independent savings banks have promoted social, cultural and sporting activities in the region in recent years. At the beginning of 2016, the association had four foundations to promote social commitment in Hameln and the central Weser Uplands. In addition, the Sparkasse Helfter Day takes place every year. On this day, the offices are closed and the employees support projects in the business area.
