The Sparkasse Weserbergland , based in Hameln, was a savings bank in the central Weserbergland . It emerged in 1999 from the merger of the Kreissparkasse Hameln-Pyrmont in 1910 and the Stadtsparkasse Bodenwerder (founded in 1844). In 2000 the Stadtsparkasse Hessisch Oldendorf was added. On January 1, 2016, Sparkasse Weserbergland merged with Stadtsparkasse Hameln to form Sparkasse Hameln-Weserbergland .

The business area included the district of Hameln-Pyrmont , but without the city of Bad Pyrmont , as well as parts of the joint municipality of Bodenwerder-Polle in the district of Holzminden .

The Sparkasse Weserbergland is an institution under public law . The legal basis is the Lower Saxony Savings Banks Act and the statutes issued by the institution.

The Sparkasse Weserbergland is the sponsor of the Sparkasse Weserbergland . The district of Hameln-Pyrmont holds 65%, the city of Bodenwerder 15% and the city of Hessisch Oldendorf 20%.

The Sparkasse Weserbergland is part of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe and therefore also belongs to its liability association. He secures the existence of the institutes and ensures that they can meet all liabilities even in the event of individual savings banks becoming insolvent . The Sparkasse arranges home loan and savings contracts from the regional building society , open investment funds from Deka and insurance from VGH Versicherungen . In the area of leasing , the Sparkasse Weserbergland works together with Deutsche Leasing . Nord / LB performs the function of the savings bank central bank .

history

1910: On September 27, 1910, the chairman of the district committee, Count Pilati, announces that the savings bank of the Hameln district will open operations on September 28. The company's headquarters are in the district building on the horse market. The ticket office is open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. Initially, two employees work there, and Sparkasse Director Fasterling is in charge.

1935: The Sparkasse celebrates its 25th anniversary. At that time, 47 civil servants and employees were employed by the Sparkasse. The deposit portfolio has grown to 12 million Reichsmarks. Since the start of business activities, branches have been set up in Aerzen, Börry, Coppenbrügge, Dehmke, Grohnde, Groß Berkel, Grupenhagen, Hohnsen, Lauenstein, Oldendorf, Osterwald, Reinerbeck, Salzhemmendorf and Vahlbruch.

1948: On June 21, 1948, the Reichsmark loses its validity. The money in circulation is overridden. The deposits at the Sparkasse, which increased from 16.8 million to 82.3 million Reichsmarks between 1939 and June 20, 1948, lose their value. After the conversion, the savings bank now has 4.5 million German marks.

1960: The economic miracle makes itself felt. Due to the good business development, the savings bank of the Hameln-Pyrmont district urgently needs more space. The Sparkasse now has 92 employees and has total assets of DM 60 million. Therefore, the Sparkasse buys the building "Am Markt 4"; it is the former clubhouse of the "Club zur Harmonie". On September 23, 1963, the Sparkasse started operations in the new premises.

1987: The main office is redesigned, the switches are no longer set up in relation to the product, but are customer-oriented. In 2005, this model was refined to become the S-FinanzMarkt.

2002: The acting chairman of the board, Friedrich-Wilhelm Kaup, takes over the helm of Sparkasse Weserbergland from Sparkasse director Wilhelm Brüggemann on April 1st

2005: In November the main branch of the Sparkasse Weserbergland, the S-FinanzMarkt, is inaugurated after renovation.

2010: Sparkasse Weserbergland is 100 years old.

2016: Merger of Sparkasse Weserbergland with Stadtsparkasse Hameln to create Sparkasse Hameln-Weserbergland.

Foundations

The Sparkasse Weserbergland had established three foundations: the Hameln-Pyrmont Foundation of the Sparkasse Weserbergland, the Foundation of the Stadtsparkasse Hessisch Oldendorf and the Sparkasse Bodenwerder Foundation. In 2011, these three foundations implemented over 80 projects in the region.
