Sparkling is a German music group from Cologne . The Musikexpress described the band's music style as "electro-post-punk-pop", the Deutschlandfunk and the Kölner Stadtrevue described the style as indie rock .

history

The trio was founded at the end of 2012 from the brothers Levin and Leon Krasel and their mutual friend Luca Schüten. After concerts all over Germany, the band released some demo recordings in 2014 in collaboration with Cologne producer Guido Lucas and toured London for the first time. Two extended tours through Germany and England followed before the band moved to London for half a year in 2015. Following further tours through Europe, a series of concerts in France and the relocation of their creative focus back to their hometown Cologne, the band went to the Chéz Chérie Studios in Berlin together with producer Moses Schneider and released their debut on September 23, 2016 -EP This Is Not the Paradise They Told Us We Would Live In . Followed by a release tour through Europe, the EP caused a lot of feedback from the press (Musikexpress, TAZ, Intro Magazin, New Noise (FR), Indie Music and many more), the Musikexpress immediately titled the trio as "The Next Big Thing". In the summer of 2017 Sparkling played a variety of music festivals in Germany such as the Dockville Festival , the Modular Festival and the c / o pop . This was followed by a double tour with the French band MNNQNS and an extended headline tour through France in autumn 2017, before the band then concentrated on working on their debut album, which on August 23, 2019 under the title I Want to See Everything will appear on Vitamin A Records .

The multilingual album was recorded in 2018 together with Andy Ramsay from Stereolab in the Press Play Studios in London and in the Skyline Tonfabrik in Düsseldorf. It was then mixed by Jimmy Robertson and Andy Ramsay.

The first three single releases for the album, The Same Again (January 2019), Champagne (April 2019) and We Don't Want It (July 2019), which was released on the sampler of the Paris label Kitsuné Musique, already generated great interest the national and international press. For example, Jack Saunders interviewed the band on his show on BBC Radio 1 about the new album and said: “Watch out for that album, because it is going to be a real real special one!” Other radio greats like Tom Ravenscroft and Steve Lamacq also did on BBC 6 Music , John Kennedy on Radio X or Matt Wilkinson on Beats 1 introduced the band to their audience. In Germany, ZEITmagazin named the band Discovery of the Week in March. In May the band played a first tour for the new album in Germany, France and Belgium. a. can be seen at the Reeperbahn Festival before the band is scheduled to play an extended release tour through Europe in autumn 2019.
