Natalie Ellen Rooney (born June 1, 1988 in Timaru ) is a New Zealand sports shooter . She competes in the Trap discipline .

Natalie Rooney finished fourth in qualification at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with 68 goals and thus secured a place in the semi-finals. With 13 goals, she had to play-off, which she won against Corey Cogdell . In the duel for the gold medal she was then defeated with 11 hits to Catherine Skinner , who scored 12, and finally received the silver medal. At the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in 2010 and in Glasgow in 2014 she missed a medal win as fourth and fifth respectively. In 2017 she was listed in first place in the world rankings.
