Catherine Skinner

Catherine Skinner (born February 11, 1990 in Mansfield (Victoria) ) is an Australian marksman and Olympic champion .

Life

Youth and education

Catherine Skinner attended Mansfield Primary School and then Firbank Grammar and Mansfield Secondary School. From 2008 to 2015 she studied chemical engineering at RMIT University in Melbourne .

Athletic career

Skinner started shooting when he was twelve. In 2006 she took part in a competition of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) for the first time and shot at the Junior World Championships in Zagreb . In 2010 she won a silver medal at the World Championships in Munich , followed by other medals in various competitions. In 2013 she was named Australian Sportswoman of the Year.

At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , she became an Olympic champion in the trap .

She is based in Melbourne .
