Satu Mäkelä-Nummela (born October 26, 1970 in Orimattila ) is a Finnish sportswoman in the trap discipline and Olympic champion.

Satu Mäkelä-Nummela was a successful shooter as early as the 1990s. In 1995 she won the bronze medal in the trap at the World Championships in Nicosia. After that, however, she took a break and only returned to the Finnish national team in 2002 after the birth of her second child. In 2006 she won a World Cup in Suhl , which earned her a ticket to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . There she won the gold medal in her Trap discipline. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , the defending champion finished seventh.

Mäkelä-Nummela works in a coffee house. She is married to Matti Nummela , who trains her and has also participated in the Olympic Games, and has two children.
